Construction of a new school
The 45 kids of the small village of Lote 4 in Chaco desperately needed a space to attend class because they were borrowing a room in the area’s busy community center. Town hall meetings and other civil and social events held in the room often resulted in canceled classes and no meals provided to the kids. In 2005, Argentina-Chicago Foundation learned about the kids’ needs and in 8 months raised the funds that allowed the construction of the first primary school in the area. Today, more than 50 kids study and receive two daily meals, cooked in a brand new kitchen at the new two-classroom school.
