Donation of school supplies, backpacks, sneakers, and masks to students
The School Nº 4783 is located in the town of “La Estrella”, department of Rivadia, a rural area in the province of Salta. Argentina-Chicago Foundation donated a total of US$1200 to the non-profit “Redes Solidarias” through the foundation “Help Argentina”, who served as a connector between both.
Of that amount, US$1100 were used to buy school supplies (sheets, folders, pencils, color crayons, rulers, etc) and backpacks to 87 students of “La Estrella”: 60 in elementary school and 27 in High school; And US$100 were used to buy general school supplies for the school in “La Curvita” (the school we donated in our previous project) where 130 kids attend school.
Also, Argentina-Chicago Foundation donated $459.27 to buy 87 sneakers, and US$323.19 for 250 masks for the whole community. All these donations were brought by one of our volunteers that lives in Argentina, Guillermo Medina. Who used his own truck and vacation time to deliver the supplies.
This project impacted not only the 217 children but also their families, the rural teachers, the director of the School Ruiz Omar Fermin, and the whole community that works very hard to give these kids a better future. We are so happy and proud we could help!
